Descriptive Entry
This accession consists mostly of field notes created by William Albert Oliver, a paleontologist and geologist with the United States Geological Survey, 1957-1993, and the National Museum of Natural History, Department of Paleobiology, 1967-2005. Oliver specialized in the study of ancient coral reefs. The majority of these field books document his work in New York and Europe. Some field work dates back to his studies at both the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Cornell University. Materials also include location data and his notes from conferences.
