This accession consists of the field work of William Jasper Sando, a research scientist with the United States Geological Survey, 1954-1993, continuing his research until 1995. His research focused on the study of fossil corals and how their evolutionary development could be used to gain understanding of the ancient geological history of the Rocky Mountain region. In addition, these field books include notes on conferences. Materials also include slides of his presentations and field work.
