This accession consists of field notes of Thomas Wayland Vaughan (1870-1952), a geologist and oceanographer with the United States Geological Survey, the United States National Museum, and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. His research focused on the study of corals and coral reefs, the investigation of larger foraminifera, and oceanography. Materials also include scientific illustrations and maps.
