Descriptive Entry
Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of a website and a blog maintained by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) as they existed on September 8, 2015.
The Forest Global Earth Observatory (ForestGEO) is a multi-institutional program that builds on and expands STRI's Center for Tropical Forest Science global network of forest plots, transforming it into a platform for a broader range of scientific investigations, such as initiatives to study carbon fluxes, temperate forests, and the impacts of climate change on biodiversity and forest function. The website includes information about the programs and its scientific initiatives.
The "Center for Tropical Forest Science News" blog launched in October 2009 and is used to disseminate news about the program and to announce publications.
Materials are in electronic format.
