Descriptive Entry
Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of video recordings documenting meiofauna. The original footage was taken at the Smithsonian Marine Station at Fort Pierce by Robert P. Higgins, a systematic invertebrate zoologist and ecologist as well as Curator in the Department of Invertebrate Zoology at the National Museum of Natural History, 1978-1996. In 1992, the original footage was used by the American Society of Zoologists in cooperation with the National Museum of Natural History to produce a 20 minute educational video, "Cryptic Fauna of Marine Sand." In addition to the original footage and the educational video, materials include a video directory and other documentation associated with the videotapes.
