This accession consists of field notes of Paul Bartsch (1871-1960), a zoologist in the United States National Museum Department of Zoology. Major expeditions include the Albatross Philippine Expedition, the Johnson-Smithsonian Deep Sea Expedition to the West Indies, and the Smithsonian-Roebling Expedition to Cuba. Materials also include correspondence, clippings, maps, reprints, scientific illustrations, and photographs. Items dating after Bartsch's death are materials based on his expedition work.
