This accession consists of records documenting outside funding for Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) research, projects, and activities. Materials include proposals, quotations, and bids from contractors, equipment makers, and other vendors to provide services, equipment, and instruments for SAO.
Files marked [JPL RSA]* are Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Research Support Agreements. Science proposals are submitted directly by Principal Investigators. If awarded, JPL decides the amount of money necessary to complete the work and issues a check to SAO. There is no date range associated with these proposals.
