Descriptive Entry

This accession consists of the records of Zahava D. Doering, Director, 1990-2000, which document her administration of the International Studies Office (OIS) and professional activities, as well as matters in regard to Smithsonian policy analysis, strategic planning, exhibition development and evaluation, and audience studies. Earlier records date back to when Doering was special assistant to the Secretary for survey research programs at OIS, 1987-1990. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; meeting agendas and minutes; budget summaries; agreements; proposals; seminar, conference, symposium, and workshop information; survey questionnaires; visitor comments; information pertaining to the Smithsonian Council and the Council of Information and Education Directors; photographs and slides; reports; news releases and clippings; brochures; floor plans; and supporting documentation.
