Descriptive Entry

This accession consists of scrapbooks created by Leonard Carmichael and Carmichael's daughter, Martha Carmichael. Carmichael served as the seventh secretary of the Smithsonian from 1953-1964. Prior to his appointment as secretary, Carmichael served as the President of Tufts College, 1938-1953. Scrapbooks include brochures, black and white photographs, clippings, and other related materials.
