Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of the records of Ramunas Kondratas, Curator, which document his participation in planning, development and production activities for "The Search for Life: Genetic Technology in the Twentieth Century" exhibition, with earlier records dating to when Kondratas was in the Division of Medical Sciences at the National Museum of American History (NMAH). Also represented in these records are curators Terry Sharrer and Arthur P. Molella, as well as project manager Harold A. Closter. The exhibition chronicled the history of molecular biology and its application and impact on modern-day agriculture and medicine. When the exhibition closed at NMAH in March 1988, it became the inaugural exhibition for the DNA Learning Center at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; proposals; a budget summary; a floor plan; scripts; press releases; exhibition reviews; meeting reports; a brochure; visitor comments; photographs; loan information; and a project schedule.
