This accession consists of documentation of the professional activities of Michael J. Neufeld, including books, presentations, and scholarly research and correspondence. Neufeld held several fellowships with the Smithsonian Institution from 1988 through 1990. In 1990, he was hired as a curator by the National Air and Space Museum, first in the Department of Aeronautics, which became the Aeronautics Division in 1997, and then in the Space History Division in 1999 (later the Space History Department). Neufeld is a specialist in rocketry and Wernher von Braun in particular. Materials include research correspondence, presentations, meeting materials, proposals, clippings, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.
