Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records created and maintained by James T. Ulak, Curator of Japanese Art, 1995-2003; Chief Curator, 2002-2003; Deputy Director, 2003-2010; and Senior Curator of Japanese Art, 2010- . A large portion of the records document the Shimada Prize for distinguished scholarship in the history of East Asian art. Additional records document exhibitions, scholarly activities, and special events. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, meeting materials, object labels, floor plans, press releases, brochures, invitations, images, a videotape, and related materials. Some materials pre-dating Ulak's tenure were created by Toni C. Lake, Executive Assistant to the Director.
