This accession consists of materials submitted to the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum for consideration for a National Design Award. An award is presented annually in each of several categories which may change from year to year and the winners are chosen by a panel of well-known designers. New judges are chosen each year. Included are the submission materials of selected applicants, typically winners and finalists, such as personal statements, biographical materials, clippings, books, promotional materials, videos, presentations, design drawings, images, product samples, correspondence, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format. Some submissions have been physically separated due to the size of the materials. See the folder list for details.
