This accession consists of materials found in the systematic files of Alexander Wetmore, ornithologist at the National Museum of Natural History, Division of Birds; Assistant Secretary in charge of the United States National Museum, 1925-1945; and Secretary, 1945-1952, of the Smithsonian Institution. Materials include correspondence, postcards, holiday cards, notes, data, reports, news clippings, maps, scientific illustrations, sketches, plates, photographs, negatives, slides, transparencies, film, currency, a patch, and a bird band. Some materials were added after Wetmore's tenure.
