Descriptive Entry
This accession consists primarily of records created by ornithologist Josselyn Van Tyne and his work with the American Ornithologists' Union (AOU). In 1936, Van Tyne became an AOU Fellow and later served as President, 1950-1953. Much of this collection concerns the Committee on Classification and Nomenclature, a committee on which he served for fifteen years. Materials include correspondence, minutes, agenda, notes, reprints, pamphlets, photographs, and a book.
