This accession consists of records created and maintained by Mary Jane Lenz, Curator, documenting her activities relating to exhibitions at the National Museum of the American Indian. Exhibitions include "Agayuliyararput (Our Way of Making Prayer): The Living Tradition of Yup'ik Masks"; "All Roads Are Good: Native Voices on Life and Culture"; "Creation's Journey: Masterworks of Native American Identity and Belief"; "Instrument of Change: James Schoppert Retrospective 1947-1992"; "Listening to Our Ancestors"; "Pathways of Tradition: Indian Insights into Indian Worlds"; "Spirit Capture: Native Americans and the Photographic Image"; "Who Stole the Tepee?"; "Stories of the People"; "Woven by the Grandmothers: Nineteenth-Century Navajo Textiles from the National Museum of the American Indian" and the traveling "America's Smithsonian" exhibition. Some exhibitions were held at the George Gustav Heye Center in New York City. Materials include correspondence, floor plans, loan information, memoranda, drawings, proposals, agreements, label text, scripts, transcripts, photographs, meeting notes, and related materials.
