Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of exhibition records created and maintained by Associate Curator and Curator, Uta C. Merzbach. The materials document the research, design, and execution of exhibitions at the National Museum of American History, primarily in the field of mathematics. Exhibitions covered include 1876: A Centennial Exhibition, the Hall of Physical Sciences, Learning Mathematics With Objects, and Pain and Its Relief. Some records date to when the division was previously known as the Section of Mathematics and Antique Instruments, and then the Section of Mathematics, as well as from when the museum was known as the United States National Museum, the Museum of History and Technology, and the National Museum of History and Technology. Materials include correspondence; memoranda; and exhibit schedules, proposals, scripts, objects lists, images, and floor plans.
