Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records primarily created and maintained by Max N. Berry, former president of the Board of Trustees, Archives of American Art (AAA). A member of the Board of Trustees since 1989, Berry became vice president in 1990 and then was president from 1992 to 1996. Berry is a Washington, D.C. lawyer specializing in international trade law. He has previously served as an attorney at the Pentagon for the United States Army and with the Office of General Counsel of the Department of the Treasury. Some materials date to both before and after Berry was on the Board of Trustees. The records document the activities of the Board and its interaction with and governance of the AAA. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, fund raising records, member lists, meeting agendas and minutes, reports, budget records, news releases, brochures, organizational charts, and clippings.
