This accession includes project files documenting renovation and restoration work in museums and offices at the Smithsonian Institution. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; contracts; reports; specifications; floor plans; and blueprints. Buildings and museums documented in this accession include the National Museum of American History, the Smithsonian Institution Quadrangle Complex, the Freer Gallery of Art, the National Air and Space Museum, the Smithsonian Radiation Biology Laboratory, the Renwick Gallery, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Barney Studio House, the Chesapeake Bay Center for Environmental Studies, the National Museum of African Art, the Smithsonian Institution Building, the National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum of American Art, the National Museum of Natural History, and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum.
