This accession consists of the papers of Smithsonian Press designer, Crimilda Pontes. Included are materials on Rails of the World: A Monograph of the Family Rallidae, the Quad flyer, and other projects for which Pontes was the designer. The files consist of correspondence, some annotated by S. Dillon Ripley; some of Pontes' original drawings; photographs; reviews of, promotional materials on, and color plates of Rails of the World: A Monograph of the Family Rallidae; as well as occasional notes by Pontes on her illness and her work.
