Descriptive Entry
Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records that were maintained by Jeffrey LaRiche, Deputy Assistant Secretary for External Affairs. The records pertain to the opening of the Quadrangle: the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the National Museum of African Art, the S. Dillon Ripley Center (International Gallery), and the Enid A. Haupt Garden. Most of the records are memoranda documenting the preparation for the opening of the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. There are also invitations; letters inviting guests to speak; notes/slides/cassette tapes from various lectures that were given; and memoranda discussing the Smithsonian Press Book about the Quadrangle (mostly in terms of its underground architecture).
