Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records documenting the activities of the Biological Diversity Program's BIOLAT (Biological Diversity in Tropical Latin America) project. BIOLAT is a joint program between the Smithsonian and Man and the Biosphere (a program of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), and is concerned with training, research, and public education on biodiversity in the Amazonian rain forest. Materials include budget proposals, resumes of applicants, evaluations from field expedition participants, annual reports, lists of workshop participants, and correspondence (much of it generated by Terry L. Erwin, Director of the BIOLAT program).
