These records document the role of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) in the Paraguayan Biological Inventory Project. The goal of the project was the collection of basic information on the identification, distribution, natural history, and current status of the flora and fauna of Paraguay, which included the establishment of a National Museum of Natural History and United States National Herbarium. The records include correspondence, memoranda, reports, and related materials documenting Mercedes S. Foster's work as USFWS Project Leader.
