This accession consists of records that document activities of the Office of the Director in the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (HMSG). Materials include the correspondence and memoranda of Abram Lerner, Director, 1967-1984; James Demetrion, Director, 1985-present; Stephen E. Weil, Deputy Director, 1974-present; Nancy F. Kirkpatrick, Administrative Officer, 1977-1979, Executive Officer, 1980-1990, and Assistant Director, 1991; and some files of Cynthia Jaffe McCabe, Assistant Curator, 1969, Associate Curator, 1970-1978, and Curator of Exhibits, 1979-1986. The records mostly pertain to exhibition planning, acquisitions and loans, symposia, budget, and HMSG facility management.
