This accession includes incoming and outgoing correspondence of F. Raymond Fosberg with professional colleagues documenting his research as a botanist and biogeographer, c. 1949-1973 (note: correspondence is in alphabetical arrangement A-E, M-Z. F-L is missing); administrative records maintained by Fosberg on Smithsonian and National Museum of Natural History programs and offices, c. 1960s-1970s; his "OA" (?) files, which consist mostly of records documenting Fosberg's work with environmental and conservation organizations; reading files, 1967-1972, which consist of copies of outgoing correspondence, manuscripts, and reports; Fosberg's "Misc" files, which consist primarily of records concerning conferences and symposia attended by Fosberg, c. 1960s-1970s; and a manuscript file, c. 1960s-1970s, which contains copies of manuscripts, incoming and outgoing correspondence, reviews, and related materials. Also included is correspondence of Fosberg's long-time colleague and collaborator Marie-Hélène Sachet.
