This accession consists primarily of the Read Files of Smithsonian Institution Press (SIP) from 1985-1989. The files are composed of photocopies of outgoing correspondence from various SIP staff, and of intra- and inter-office memoranda. In addition, there is a file of Miscellaneous Correspondence from the Director's Office, which dates from 1970 to 1990. Finally, there is a file of Speeches and Trips made by Directory Felix Lowe from 1985 to 1992, which includes speech texts, trip planning information, and information about the events attended.
