These records document the work of Judith K. Zilczer in the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden's (HMSG) Department of Painting and Sculpture, as Historian, Associate Curator of Painting, and acting Chief Curator. The records contain Zilczer's research notes and drafts of research papers, correspondence, memoranda, notes of papers presented at symposia, exhibition brochures and pamphlets, manuscripts for catalogues to various exhibitions, photographs, contract records, loan requests, shipping vouchers, remodeling of exhibition galleries in the museum, documents pertaining to the security of the exhibition halls, invitations to the exhibition openings, drawings, labels, checklists, sketches of art, pre- and post-doctorate proposals for fellowships, research paper proposals, photocopies of art journal and newspaper articles, photocopies of chapters from published monographs, staff committee minutes, budget proposals, and estimates and proposals for exhibitions.
