This accession consists primarily of videotapes featuring news related stories about exhibitions, special events, and curatorial activities at the National Museum of American History (NMAH). Some noteworthy videotapes include television interviews with Roger G. Kennedy, former Director of NMAH; coverage of opening events for the Duke Ellington and the First Ladies Gowns exhibitions; and the presentation of musician Dizzy Gillespie's flair trumpet to the Museum. Materials also include publications of the Smithsonian News Service, working files, and cassette tape recordings of musical concerts, lectures, radio interviews, and press conferences at NMAH.
