Edwin Gould served as Curator, Department of Mammalogy, National Zoological Park (NZP), from 1980 to 1996. This accession provides partial documentation of Gould's tenure as Curator of Mammals, NZP, and consists of correspondence, memoranda, reports, research notes, and related materials concerning the exhibition of the zoo's collection of mammals. A small amount of material was created prior to Gould's appointment at NZP and concerns his work as a faculty member at Johns Hopkins University. Of special interest are records documenting Gould's field work in Malaysia in 1983 and of the NZP's elephant training and management program.
