This accession consists of records created by Jane R. Glaser during her tenure as Director for the Office of Museum Programs, 1976-1989, which was renamed the Center for Museum Studies in 1995. The records consist of correspondence between Glaser and museum officers in overseas countries, mostly documenting seminars and workshops in museum education and management programs held at the Smithsonian Institution, museum audience surveys, and museum exhibitions. This correspondence also concerns museum training and internship programs at the Smithsonian, and requests for the Smithsonian staff participation in overseas seminars and workshops on various aspects of museum operations.
In addition there are newspaper clippings, postcards, seminar and workshop funding proposals to the National Endowment for the Humanities, interoffice memoranda and notes, correspondence with the United States Information Agency and copies of research proposals.
