This accession consists of records that document the work of the Office of Environmental Management and Safety and its predecessors during the period from 1972 to 1991. Most of the records deal with efforts to monitor and control levels of pollutants such as lead, formaldehyde, asbestos, and various industrial chemicals through the use of ventilation, respirators, abatement/change of chemical compounds, and the like.
