This accession consists of the papers of Jackson Miles Abbott, noted bird watcher and authority on the American bald eagle and the birds of Virginia. Materials include correspondence concerning bird sightings; correspondence, manuscripts, and illustrations relating to articles published by Abbott; and correspondence, photographs, and related materials concerning his interest in the birds of Virginia.
