Descriptive Entry
Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of registrar cards that document objects acquired in the Division of Mechanical Technology, United States National Museum prior to 1912, when that Division was known as the Division of Technology reporting to the Department of Anthropology. Some of the cards also date to when Mechanical Technology was a section of the Division of Engineering. The cards primarily include information on objects such as models of locomotives, vessels, and coal mining tools, with earlier dates spanning from 1888 to 1900. In addition there is a notebook of "boats sent to storage," from the year 1899.
