Descriptive Entry

This accession consists of records that primarily document Naval Division, Department of Armed Forces History, planning for the Hall of Naval History in the Museum of History and Technology; Division of History exhibition plans for naval artifacts in the Arts and Industries Building and the United States National Museum; and one file of records from the Division of Armed Forces History, National Museum of American History. Materials include correspondence of Theodore T. Belote, Curator of the Division of History, 1919-1948; and Philip K. Lundeberg, Associate Curator, 1959-1961, Curator of Naval History, 1962-1984, and Curator Emeritus of Armed Forces History, 1986- . In addition there are exhibition scripts, Belote's manuscript on the history of flags (plus examples of flags), a list of naval artifacts loaned by the U.S. Marine Corps and Navy Department, a blueprint for the Hall of Naval History, and photographs.
