This accession consists of correspondence, fieldwork proposals and itineraries, project proposals and budgets, and monthly and quarterly reports concerning the work of William Jasper Sando, research scientist for the United States Geological Survey. Sando's research primarily concerned the study of fossil corals and how their evolutionary development could be used to gain understanding of the ancient geological history of the Rocky Mountain region of the United States.
