Descriptive Entry
The majority of the records date from the creation of the Department in 1964, but they include material from the divisions of the Department of Zoology at the then United States National Museum which later became the Department of Vertebrate Zoology. The records include internal correspondence concerning travel, departmental committees, hiring of curators, fiscal matters, and special projects of departmental interest. Staff documented include Philip S. Humphrey and George E. Watson.
