Descriptive Entry
These records consist of correspondence and specimen listings and provide supplemental information to the entries maintained in the Specimen Distribution Record Books, record unit 120. Records which did not provide additional information were culled and discarded. Material concerns the distribution of specimens to schools, museums, public institutions, and individual scientists throughout the United States and overseas. Registrars during this time period included Stephen C. Brown, Registrar, 1880-1919; and Herbert S. Bryant, Chief of the Division of Correspondence and Documents, 1918-1948.
