Descriptive Entry
Descriptive Entry
These records consist of incoming correspondence primarily to Frederic Augustus Lucas, a curator in the Division, from Charles E. Beecher, William Cooper, Nelson Horatio Darton, James W. Gidley, George Brown Goode, James Hall, John Bell Hatcher, Othniel Charles Marsh, William McAdams, Henry Fairchild Osborn, and Charles D. Walcott. Also included is correspondence from Fred Brown to Marsh concerning specimens collected in Wyoming by Brown for Marsh at Yale University. Presumably, this correspondence accompanied the specimens when they were later given to the United States National Museum. Included with a letterpress book of outgoing correspondence, 1900-1909, are copies of the Division's annual reports for fiscal years 1901 to 1909.
