Descriptive Entry

These annual reports were prepared by curators and administrators from the National Museum of History and Technology (NMHT) as well as from two previous museum administrative entities, the United States National Museum and the Museum of History and Technology, that had responsibility for objects currently housed in NMHT. The reports were then submitted in a condensed form for publication in the Annual Report of the Smithsonian Institution and, since fiscal year 1965, in the Smithsonian Year. Included in these annual summaries are a general discussion prepared by the Office of the Director, NMHT, and curatorial divisions and departments of the year's major events including exhibits, special museum activities, photographs of events and museum objects, bibliographies of curators, and accession data.
