Descriptive Entry
These records consist primarily of incoming and outgoing correspondence compiled by the Division of Fishes, circa 1965-1978. Most of the correspondence is from ichthyologists, collectors, donors and students and concerns the identification, exchange and distribution of specimens, collecting work and requests for publications. Also found in the records are manuscript copies of annual report submissions, circa 1891-1972, and manuscript budget estimates, circa 1885-1974.
Curators and other staff members of the Division of Fishes represented by correspondence in these records include Ernest A. Lachner, Curator in Charge, 1965-1966, Supervisor and Curator, 1967, and Curator, 1968-1978; Victor G. Springer, Associate Curator, 1965-1966, and Curator, 1967-1978; William Ralph Taylor, Associate Curator, 1965-1978; Stanley H.
