Descriptive Entry
Descriptive Entry
These records consist of notebooks created by the Registrar's Office to document the objects loaned to the Cooper-Hewitt Museum for exhibition. Documentation consists of color photographs or photocopies of photographs of objects showing methods of packing for shipment or damage to objects. Notebooks also contain condition reports, floor plans showing placement of objects in exhibitions, exhibition label facsimiles, lists of objects shown in exhibitions, and values of objects in different currencies. The first exhibition documented here is The Royal Pavilion at Brighton, which opened in March 1977, and the last is Robert Adam and Kedleston Hall, which opened in June 1987. Documentation of exhibits is by no means complete. Many of the notebooks correspond to exhibition files contained in Record Unit 541, and are linked to the files by loan number.
