Historical Note

Historical Note
In 1978 the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (WWICS) entered into a contract with the Longhorn Radio Network at the University of Texas to participate in a public affairs consortium series of radio programs called "Focus." The Wilson Center produced the broadcasts on a variety of timely topics concerned with politics and current issues.
This arrangement lasted until 1983, when the Wilson Center began to produce its own series of radio broadcasts called Radio Dialogue. Occasionally, these programs were also broadcast by National Public Radio or Radio Smithsonian. Deputy Director Prosser Gifford was the moderator, aided by Eugenie Beth Skarstrom, who served as Radio Coordinator, 1984- .
