Historical Note
James C. Bradley served as Undersecretary of the Smithsonian Institution, 1971-1972. After his retirement in 1972, Bradley agreed to serve as a Special Consultant to Secretary Ripley in order to assist in the completion of several projects with which he had been involved before his retirement.
