This collection consists of a small amount of correspondence between James O. Maloney and scientific colleagues including Kenneth Neff Dearolf, Ralph Warren Dexter, Stephen P. Hatchett, and Horton H. Hobbs, Jr. Most of the correspondence concerns Maloney's research on isopods.

Historical Note

Historical Note
James O. Maloney (1897- ) was an Assistant Inspector for the State Plant Board of Mississippi. In 1923, Maloney was appointed Aid in the Division of Marine Invertebrates of the United StatesNational Museum, a position he held until his resignation in 1945. Maloney's main zoological interest was the study of isopods.
