Descriptive Entry

These papers consist of Izsak's professional correspondence and concern his research on geodesy and celestial mechanics; scientific conferences and symposia; and the publication of scientific manuscripts. The correspondence is arranged alphabetically by correspondent.

Historical Note

Imre G. Izsak (1929-1965) joined the staff of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) in 1959 as a Celestial Mechanic in the Research and Analysis Section. In 1961, he was appointed Chief of the Research and Analysis Section. Izsak's primary fields of study were geodesy and celestial mechanics.
