These papers document Roundy's twenty-eight year career with the USGS. They consist of incoming and outgoing correspondence concerning the identification of fossil specimens; his fieldwork in Kansas and Oklahoma, 1918; research on Carboniferous invertebrates; and professional activities.

Historical Note

Historical Note
Paul V. Roundy (1884-1937) was educated at Syracuse University and George Washington University (A.B. 1912). He joined the staff of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) as Preparator of Fossils in 1909. He was promoted to Associate Geologist in 1919 and remained in that position until his death. Roundy's paleontological research focused on Carboniferous invertebrates, especially conodonts and ostracods.
