This collection consists of bird observation notes and sighting records, mainly in the form of field notes, although there are some compilations of James W. Eike's sightings.

Historical Note

Historical Note
James W. Eike (1911-1983), a native of Woodbridge, Virginia, joined the Virginia Society of Ornithology (VSO) in 1933, and was an active member and officer of the Society for the rest of his life. Eike was a lifelong observer of birds in and around northern Virginia, and he participated in numerous field trips and bird counts sponsored by the VSO and the Audubon Naturalist Society.
