This photograph collection was maintained by the Department of Mineral Sciences and its predecessor, the Department of Geology. It includes photographs of curators and other departmental staff members, donors to the national collection of minerals and gems, geologists, paleontologists, mineralogists, and gemologists. Paul E. Desautels, William F. Foshag, Edward P. Henderson, George Frederick Kunz, George P. Merrill, Washington A. Roebling, Waldemar Theodore Schaller, and Henry Stephens Washington are but a few of the scientists represented by photographs in the collection.
