This collection is organized into two series. Series One (boxes 1-5) consists of bridge logs, and records of birds and fishes. Series Two (boxes 6-20) consists of station reports.

Historical Note

Historical Note
The United States Fish and Wildlife Service initiated oceanographic researches of fishing operations in the Gulf of Mexico, beginning in the summer of 1950. The purposes were to take inventory of fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and to gather data for commercial and maritime fisheries.
The marine vessels (M/V) and later changed to research vessels (R/V) used in the studies that are part of this collection were the George M. Bowers, Combat, Coquette, Herman Cortez, Geronimo, Gulf Ranger, Milmar, Normandie, Oregon, Oregon II, Pelican, Undaunted, and Vessel X.
