Scope and Contents
The Rick Reinhard Photography Collection contains 12,100 black and white prints, 18,900 color slides, 240,000 black and white negatives, 14,200 digital images, and 4 boxes of tear sheets from newspapers, magazines, and reports. The collection documents more than five decades of Reinhard's work, especially Washington, D.C.'s Latino and activist communities dating from 1970s through the 2010s.
Subjects of the photographs include children, women, political figures, demonstrations, portraits, landscapes, Washington, DC, the Middle East, Mexico, and Central America. Many photographs appear in documentary films and major newspapers and magazines, books, and museum exhibitions.
